Stop Chasing Invoices.
Start Building Something.
One full-time role. £48,000 base, van + fuel card, uncapped commission on work you find — and a platform that does your timesheet, your paperwork, and pays you every Friday without being asked.
The Real Numbers
Subcontracting Sounds Like More Money. Until You Do The Whole Sum.
The average self-employed engineer in London grosses £65,000. After the van, insurance, dead days, ACS renewals and unpaid admin — most clear far less, with all the risk on their own shoulders. And the big-firm alternative pays £40–45k for the privilege of being managed by league table. Here's our answer to both.

Who You'd Be Working With
Built By An Engineer. Run By One.
I'm Ash — CEO, Gas Safe registered (946687). These days I run the company rather than the jobs — though some of the work that comes through is interesting enough that I still can't help picking the tools back up. I'll be the one technically assessing you before any offer, and the one on the other end of the phone when a job turns out bigger than the ticket said. We built this company to be the place we'd have wanted to work as engineers — pay that lands without asking, an app that kills the paperwork, and nobody managing you by spreadsheet.
— Ash Sunda, CEO & Lead Engineer
We're Selective For A Reason.
Our customers trust us with their homes and businesses. Every engineer we hire represents Pleasant. We only bring on people who take that seriously.
You're Right For Us If:
- Valid Gas Safe registration (CCN1 + CENWAT)
- 5+ years post-qualification experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Based in / within easy reach of London
- You communicate clearly and take pride in the work
- You want somewhere to grow — Engineer → Senior → Supervisor
This Isn't For You If:
- You want day-rate subcontract work — that's our other door: subcontractor.pleasantplumbers.com
- You need a script and a league table to stay motivated
- You're outside London
- Under 5 years post-qualification (but check back — we're building an apprentice pathway)
We'd rather wait for the right engineer than hire the next one. This role is the start of the employed team this company will be built on.
You'll be assessed by our lead engineer before offer — we take gas safety more seriously than anywhere you've worked.
